About the Rockwall ISD Education Foundation, Inc.
Mission
 The mission of the Rockwall ISD Education Foundation is to generate and
distribute resources to the Rockwall Independent School District to enrich and
expand programs needed to meet the District’s stated mission of excellence in
education.
An important target in the District’s Strategic Plan has been to obtain
alternative revenue sources. Due to changes in state funding formulas and
continued limits in the state budget, state funds to the District have declined
considerably in recent years.
It is the desire of Rockwall I.S.D. Education Foundation, Inc. to provide
educational opportunities for students and faculty beyond what is provided for
within the budget of Rockwall I.S.D. as well as serve to encourage and reward
innovation in the classroom now and in the future.
About the Foundation

The Foundation is a nonprofit
corporation 501 (c) (3) chartered in October 2003.

The Foundation operates
independently of the school district soliciting
private grants and community involvement in order to
provide funds to support the students and staff of
Rockwall ISD.

The Foundation awards foundation
funds through a volunteer Board of Directors
comprised of business, community and educational
leaders.

Goals of the Foundation

By “Reaching Beyond” the
District’s normal sources of state funding, the
Foundation strives to provide educational enrichment
opportunities for students and faculty beyond what
is provided for within the budget of Rockwall ISD.

The Foundation strives to
facilitate student achievement and skill
development, recognize and encourage staff
excellence, and expand community involvement from
individuals, businesses and civic organizations.

The Foundation’s main focus of
funding is teacher-initiated projects that
encourage, facilitate, recognize and reward creative
and well-designed instructional approaches to
learning.
Why establish an Education Foundation?
