Pogue Family Gift to the Library
The RISD Education Foundation, Inc. invites each RISD school’s art department to
submit an item in the Live Auction at the Foundation’s Annual Celebration. In
February 2008, Virginia Reinhardt’s art teacher, Lacy Rotan, and students
prepared a “Reading Basket” which included seven books written and illustrated
by the students, a stuffed monkey, and a cozy throw. Paul and Judy Pogue of
Pogue Construction purchased the basket and then presented it to Doreen Miller,
Rockwall County Library’s Children’s Librarian, at the Library’s ribbon cutting
on September 7, 2008. They were supported by other members of the Foundation’s
Board of Directors—Leigh Plagens, Congressman Ralph Hall, and Superintendent Dr.
Gene Burton.
