Project Dream Room
Each semester, the Rockwall ISD Education Foundation, Inc. invites Rockwall ISD
teachers to write Innovative Teaching Grants to fund classroom projects that
might otherwise be impossible due to budgetary constraints. Over the past eleven
semesters, the Foundation has funded 148 grants, totaling $218,479.70 and
affecting more than 32,000 Rockwall ISD students! Janet Caporaletti and Kathy
Riley from Doris Cullins-Lake Pointe Elementary School were awarded a group
grant entitled “Project: Dream Room” where students arranged common items – such
as crayola boxes and construction paper – in storage boxes to create a “Dream
Room.” There was also a presentation day for parents and community members to
take part in this campus-wide activity.
