PALS students from Rockwall High School assist with 2009 Prize Patrol
The RISD Education Foundation, Inc. received the assistance from the Rockwall
High School PALS, under the leadership of Coach Billy Tipps. The students were
instrumental in preparing for the 2009 Spring Prize Patrol which recognized 56
teachers who participated in fifteen grants representing eleven campuses, and
distributed $27,693.05 to be used for classroom projects reaching beyond
standard activities. The students prepared 56 three-balloon, balloon bouquets
for the Innovative Teaching Grant recipients. They also worked with the
Foundation in making final preparations for the 2009 Celebration, “Reach For the
Stars.” PALS is a student leadership organization active at RISD secondary
schools. Both Rockwall High School and Rockwall Heath High School students have
assisted with Foundation projects.
