Teacher wins at RISD Education Foundation, Inc.’s annual Celebration
The RISD Education Foundation, Inc. honored all current and past Innovative
Teaching Grant recipients at the annual Celebration, “Reach for the Stars,” held
earlier this year. Eight prizes were donated and all grant recipients attending
the celebration were eligible for the drawing. The Rockwall office of Lady of
America generously donated three one-year memberships valued at over $800 each,
and the winners were Renee Cecil of Dorothy Pullen Elementary, Dana Akard of
Rockwall High School and Elena Straight of Ouida Springer Elementary. Nancy
Doudney of Rockwall High School won two round-trip airline tickets from
Southwest Airlines; Katy Ruff of Celia Hays Elementary won a one-night stay at
Lakeway Resort and Spa; Patrick McClendon of Doris Cullins-LakePointe Elementary
won a two-night stay and breakfast in the Mistra Room at the Hilton Bella
Harbor, dontated by Sara Whittle. The Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center
donated two, one-night stays and Elizabeth Kelly of Sharron Shannon Elementary
and Susan Boyd of Grace Hartman Elementary won.
