RISD Art Teachers Receive Over $16,000 from 2009 Celebration
The talented art students of Rockwall ISD created and donated over 200 pieces of
artwork which were displayed, sold and auctioned at RISD Education Foundation,
Inc.'s annual Celebration. The art included everything from elementary school
drawings to a glass chandelier, mosaic pieces, jewelry, furniture, and much
more. The "Reach for the Stars" Celebration honored Innovative Teaching Grant
recipients, Century Club members, and the Foundation Board of Directors. Of the
money raised, $16,682.75 was given to the various participating art departments,
with that money to be used to enhance art programs at the individual schools.
