AMICA organization works with the Education Foundation and RISD Art Teachers
The AMICA Organization attended the September RISD Education Foundation, Inc.
Board of Directors meeting to present the Foundation with a unique fund raising
opportunity. RISD Art Teachers were offered an opportunity to adorn a silver
AMICA belt buckle and submit for judging by public vote at Willis Fine Jewelry
and Culpepper Steak House. Winning buckles will then be offered for sale or
auction at the AMICA Denim & Diamonds Gala on November 17. Proceeds of the belt
buckles will be evenly distributed to the respective art departments and to the
Foundation to be used for Innovative Teaching Grants. In addition to the art
teachers present at the board meeting, the following will be participating: Amy
Efeney of Dorothy S. Pullen Elementary, Lynne Milner of Grace Hartman
Elementary; Anne Foster of Rockwall High School, Mandy Cooper-Schalk and Karen
Tucker of Rockwall-Heath High School, Kathleen Finan of Amy Parks-Heath
Elementary, Amy Davies of Maurine Cain Middle School and Maria Shah of J. W.
Williams Middle School. For more information, please contact AMICA’s Nicki
Harkrider at 214-693-7348.
